Guided reading is my favorite part of my day! I get to hear and coach my readers through texts and tailor lessons to teach the skills they still need time to master. We spend two days with the same text and my readers get to know and impress themselves as new readers and track their own progress. It's their time to interact with texts independently, apply reading strategies, and become more fluent as they reread texts. Here are the tips I use when planning and teaching my guided reading lessons.
